 ARLINGTON, VA – September 6, 2007 – Collins & Company announces the opening of its regional headquarters in Denver, Colorado. The new office will strengthen the Washington, DC company's services and commitment to its customers in the West. Serving as the firm's regional headquarters for Colorado and destinations across the western United States, the office will be used to represent the interests of businesses, associations, higher education programs and schools, international companies and other groups before the United States government.
"A permanent presence in Denver will enable Collins & Company to better understand the challenges facing our customers located far outside of Washington, DC. A foothold at the state level will enhance our effectiveness at the federal level," says Richard L. Collins, President and founder.
Ms. Christina Everist, a veteran of Collins & Company since 2004, will oversee the opening and serve as Regional Director.
Ms. Everist currently lobbies for a prominent state officials association, where she advocates for the effective use of information technology for civilian government applications at the federal, state, and local levels. She was successful in assisting the Association obtain legislative language that would help improve intergovernmental cyber security by requiring that a state cyber security strategy and assessment process be developed to protect critical information and communications technology systems. In addition, Ms. Everist has worked with various international governments including the diplomatic team of a small Latin American nation to help them to negotiate, marshal Congressional support for, and pass a free trade agreement with the United States.
