Richard Collins is the President of Collins & Company. Prior to establishing his company, Mr. Collins served for more than 20 years on the staff of the United States Senate, having joined the professional staff of the Senate Committee on Appropriations in June 1974. Upon his retirement in January 1995, he held the position of Staff Director of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense for six years. In his work for the Committee, Mr. Collins traveled extensively, both independently and as the senior staff member on congressional delegations.

Mr. Collins has been awarded the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate in Political Science from the University of Connecticut and has pursued graduate studies at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, D.C
