
Mark D. Marin is a Senior Associate at Collins & Company, specializing in higher education, research and development, scientific organizations, and appropriations.
Mr. Marin joined Collins & Company in October 2007. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Marin worked for 10 years as a lobbyist on behalf of universities and scientific organizations, with a particular focus on building fruitful relationships with executive branch agencies such as the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation.
Through the development of long-standing relationships with key agency officials and staff, and by staying in regular contact with agency personnel as they work through their own internal programmatic and budgetary planning, Mr. Marin has been able to help customers better understand current federal agency programs and, more importantly, gain strong insight into what agencies are likely to emphasize in their future funding. Mr. Marin has also led successful lobbying campaigns on behalf of customers on issues including energy technology, bioengineering, nanotechnology, regenerative medicine, mathematics, and information technology.
Mr. Marin is a graduate in Political Science of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which he attended as a recipient of the prestigious Morehead Award, the oldest undergraduate merit-based scholarship in the United States.
